2020 Census Ambassador Program

The 2020 Census Ambassador Program will equip individuals with the information needed to serve as Census Ambassadors in their communities.. The Ambassador Program will consist of a 2-hour online training that will provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of the census. It will include a Census 101, overview of the questionnaire, common questions from community members and other pertinent information. The aim of the program is to train knowledgeable messengers who can connect with members of their community and inform others about the importance of completing the census. 

After completion of the training, participants must complete at least 3 hours of service to inform their community about the importance of census and to encourage participation. Service can be completed in the form of phone banking, and SMS text messaging campaign, etc. Compensation in the form of an honorarium will be provided for the training and for service hours at the conclusion of the Ambassador's commitment. Compensation will include $15 for every hour of the training and at least $15 for every hour of service. 

This opportunity is open to individuals who reside and/or work in Wake, Anson, Bertie, Cumberland, Duplin, Durham, Edgecombe, Guilford, Halifax, Hoke, Mecklenburg, Northampton, Robeson, Sampson, Scotland, and Vance.
