NC's Population is 10.6 Million

African-Americans make up 21.4% of the population; The Asian population in N.C., now about 318,000, grew the fastest of any racial or ethnicity group since 2010 with an increase of 51.7%. They now account for 3.1% of the total population; The Latinx population in NC is now at almost one million, which is 9.6% of the state’s population, up from 8.4% in 2010

NC is Becoming More Diverse

The latest population projections suggest that by 2039, 43% of North Carolinians will be a person of color (5.5 million of 12.9 million total people).

NC is Now the 9th Most Populous State in the U.S.

NC experienced the 4th largest numeric gain among states between 2010 and 2019.
